Our Initiative
A group of 100 (or more) women commit to donating $100 each. Collectively, they have $10,000 (at minimum) to donate to various local charities and causes. One night per year, the women get together to learn about the nominated charities and select their desired causes to support. Any event costs (ie. refreshments, snacks, venue) are donated so 100% of your $100 donation goes to charity.
There are hundreds of “100 Who Care” chapters around the world. Each chapter is structured differently by a local Committee.

We are very pleased to announce the organizations in the running for this year’s 100+ Women Who Care North Stormont.
École Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire
Hello, I am the principal of Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire Catholic elementary school in Crysler. This year, our school implemented a project to transform our learning environments. Next year, we are transforming our schoolyard so that students can experience more learning in nature. We want to purchase educational materials and ecological tools that promote learning. An amount of $5000 would help us enormously to achieve our goal. Thank you so much
Merci beaucoup”
Finch Recreation
The Finch Recreation would like to submit our Park Plan for consideration for the 100+Caring Women - North Stormont fundraiser. The Finch Recreation is setting out to revitalize the green space on the western portion of the DC Vollrath Memorial Ball Diamond. The plan includes building a multi-purpose sports pad with permanent rink boards and a sports surface with basketball and pickle ball courts, The park would also have a play structure, fitness equipment designed for seniors but suitable for all ages, a walking path with garden beds, outdoor art, and an interactive musical garden. The intention of this revitalization is to both beautify and provide a space for North Stormont residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy and get active. The estimated cost of the revitalization, when completed, could reach $1 million so we would be seeking $10,000 to put towards our fundraising efforts. Respectfully submitted on behalf of the Finch Recreation.
North Stormont Fire Department
Last year Ontario fire fatalities reached 125 persons. This year as of July 12, 2023 we are at 55 fire fatalities. The numbers of no smoke alarms is 18% of home fires and 14% where smoke alarms did not operate. There is a more stats, but all this to say we need to engage our community in smoke alarm safety, testing and so forth. The services is seeking the monies to purchase a Smoke Alarm Mascot, along with smoke alarms to donate to those is need as well as stuff sparkies and firefighters bears for children affected in fires, car accidents and so forth. I have seen the comfort these bring to them in a traumatic time. I am currently getting quotes for all but am looking at the full 10,000.00 and will present separate cases one for a the $6500 for the Mascot to help spread awareness with our campaign and the second portion for the alarms, and stuff plush sparky and bears. I am currently working on getting a quote for all mentioned above. Thank you for your consideration.
Carefor Health and Community Services
Carefor's North Stor Seniors' Support Centre has been serving older residents of the county for close to 30 years. Various programs including Meals Delivery, Day Away Services, Social Activities, Congregate Dining, Exercise Programs, Caregiver Support are offered at the Centre. The Lounge at Carefor's North Stor Seniors' Support Centre in Finch is in dire need of refreshing. This room is used frequently for programs such as the knitting circle, the book/letter club, tea time, and other meetings. Its carpet is nearing 30 years and is a trip hazard for some of our clients. Replacing the carpet with laminate hardwood is a safety goal for the organization. The estimate to complete the work is $8,500. The blinds in the numerous west facing windows are no longer as functional as they once were. The cost to purchase new ones is $3,000. The walls and ceiling in this room are in need of a fresh coat of paint. The cost to repair, prime and paint the walls, ceiling and trim is $3,300. A total of $14,800 is needed to complete the work noted herein. This request is submitted with hope that the 100 Women Who Care of North Stormont may cover part if not all of the costs associated with refreshing the Lounge at Carefor's North Stor Seniors' Support Centre in Finch. Thank you!
